Prices below are per property, per week.

1. Chalet Blitzen, Les Houches: a farmhouse on the piste

Chalet Blitzen stands directly on La Verte, the Kandahar World Cup piste in Les Houches. The restored 19th-century farmhouse offers ski-in ski-out access, with terraces looking towards both the Mont Blanc massif and the Fiz range.

Its 350sqm layout accommodates up to 12 across five bedrooms, including a children’s bunk room. A mezzanine snug gives younger guests somewhere to retreat, while the sauna, steam room and outdoor hot tub provide a welcome way to spend the hours after skiing. Original farmhouse character gives the shared spaces an appeal of their own, particularly for families wanting a traditional Alpine setting with immediate slope access.

2. Chalet Chatoyer, Argentière: a riverside retreat

Chalet Chatoyer sits beneath the Aiguille Verte and Argentière Glacier, with a private riverside garden and natural lake. Seven bedrooms accommodate 14, and generous living spaces make it a promising choice for two families travelling together.

The views extend down the Chamonix Valley, while Argentière is four minutes away and Chamonix around 12 minutes away. The Plan Joran lift provides access to Les Grands Montets’ high-altitude terrain. This is a stay to consider for its outdoor setting and room to gather, with the valley’s skiing within reach rather than directly outside the door.

3. Chalet Shiva, Val d’Isère: a private wellness floor

Chalet Shiva occupies an elevated position in Le Crêt, a traditional hamlet above Val d’Isère. Its double-height living room takes in uninterrupted resort views, and seven en-suite bedrooms give a group of 14 generous private space.

An entire floor is devoted to wellness: the indoor pool has a waterfall and counter-current system, alongside a hammam, gym and massage area. A soundproofed cinema and outdoor hot tub extend the options for guests spending less time on the mountain. The catered service includes four-course dinners on five evenings, unlimited Champagne and daily chauffeured transfers to the slopes.

4. Chalet Icon, Courchevel 1550: Alpine modernism

Chalet Icon draws on Alpine modernism and the work of Charlotte Perriand. Natural materials, floor-to-ceiling windows and a working fireplace define the main living space, while eight en-suite bedrooms accommodate up to 20, including a family suite with an adjoining bunk room.

The private spa brings together a heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub and massage room. A gym, games room and home cinema give a large group plenty of space to spend time separately.

Oliver’s Travels’ published catering package includes breakfast and afternoon-tea groceries. Food for lunches and dinners costs extra, with private-chef service listed for six days a week, depending on the week booked.

Sleeps 20 | Catered | £19,824–£168,503 per week

5. Chalet La Foret, Méribel: catered comfort above the village

Chalet La Foret sits above Méribel Village, around 300 metres from the Golf chairlift, piste, bakery and restaurants. Seven bedrooms accommodate 12 to 15, with a cinema and games room, sauna and secluded outdoor hot tub for quieter hours at home.

The catered package provides breakfast and afternoon tea each day, with canapés before dinner and chef-prepared meals on five nights. Early children’s suppers can be provided daily if required, and unlimited Champagne and a complimentary drinks bar suit a celebratory gathering. Sleeps 12–15 | Catered | £34,635–£92,052 per week

6. Chalet Clairval, Les Gets: space for slower days

Chalet Clairval looks across the quieter side of the Morzine-Les Gets ski area from its position above the village. Five en-suite bedrooms sleep 10, and the lifts are around 750 metres away.

Natural timber runs through the contemporary living space, with broad terraces and balconies extending the mountain views outdoors. The hot tub is positioned towards the peaks, while a dedicated cinema room and private yoga space, complete with mats, make the chalet particularly appealing to a mixed group of skiers and non-skiers.

Sleeps 10 | Self-catered | £4,027–£17,896 per week

7. Chalet Latifa, Alpe d’Huez: direct access and a private spa

Chalet Latifa combines ski-in ski-out access in the heart of Alpe d’Huez with seven en-suite bedrooms for 14 guests. Timber beams and stone detailing give the four-storey chalet a traditional feel, with a vaulted living and dining space arranged around a central fireplace.

The ground floor contains a private spa with a hot tub and sauna, while the principal suite occupies the top floor and opens onto its own balcony. Outside, the resort offers 250km of pistes, from family-friendly nursery terrain to the 16km Sarenne black run.

Sleeps 14 | Self-catered | £5,699–£29,998 per week

8. Apartment Madlen, Alpe d’Huez: a smaller mountain base

Apartment Madlen is a 65sqm third-floor apartment just 50 metres from the Télécentre lift, with the Léopold piste closer still. Two en-suite double bedrooms suit two couples or a small family, and the village is around 300 metres away.

A south-facing balcony looks across the Alps, giving this compact apartment a generous outlook. A private ski locker and washing machine cover useful everyday needs. Guests wanting some meals taken care of can request private-chef, catering or half-board options through the concierge, keeping the independence of an apartment while adding help where it matters to them.

Sleeps 4 | Self-catered | £1,399–£7,046 per week

9. Chalet Leo, Leogang: a two-house Alpine estate

Chalet Leo occupies 1,800sqm, divided between a main house and adjoining guest house. Both buildings contain five bedrooms; each also has a living and dining space and a professionally equipped kitchen, an arrangement well suited to a multigenerational gathering of 20.

The leisure floor includes a 14-metre indoor pool, gym with a climbing wall and cinema with a 3.6-metre screen. Children have an indoor play area with playhouses and tunnels, as well as two outdoor playgrounds; adults have saunas and treatment rooms.

The self-catered package includes a private ski shuttle serving several Austrian ski areas and two hours of cleaning per week. A private chef is available on request, so guests seeking a fully serviced stay should arrange the additional support they want before arrival.

Sleeps 20 | Self-catered | £43,718–£179,719 per week

10. Apartment Kristall, St Anton: straight onto the slopes

Apartment Kristall opens directly onto St Anton’s slopes, providing access to the 300km-plus Ski Arlberg network without a morning transfer. Traditional Tyrolean timber gives the interiors a warm Alpine character.

Five en-suite bedrooms include four doubles or twins and a bunk room for four, accommodating 10 to 12 guests. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area centres on a table seating 12, so the whole group can eat together. Guests also have access to an Alpine bio-sauna.

Sleeps 10–12 | Self-catered | £13,213–£33,040 per week
