A gold-leaf swimming pool in Val d’Isère and an entire wellness level in Courchevel Moriond make a rather persuasive case for spending more of a ski holiday indoors. Add private bars, chef-prepared dinners and a chalet with its own fromagerie, and the hours after the last run start to look wonderfully indulgent.

Consensio has highlighted five chalets for winter 2026/27 that put wellness, dining and entertainment at the heart of the stay. The new arrival is Chalet Montclair in Méribel, due to join the collection this winter. Alongside it are four established properties with quite different personalities, from Marco Polo’s statement pool and racing simulator to Le Rocher’s family-friendly LEGO playroom.

Your group’s idea of a perfect afternoon is a useful starting point: a swim, a film, a long dinner or somewhere for the children to play. Travellers also considering a hotel can explore our guide to new and renewed Alpine ski stays for winter 2026/27. For a private-chalet escape, these are five worth considering.

1. Chalet Montclair, Méribel: a new design-led mountain retreat

Consensio plans to add Chalet Montclair to its collection for winter 2026/27. The residence spans more than 650 square metres, with six en-suite bedrooms accommodating up to 12 guests. Its setting on Route de la Renarde puts it close to Méribel Centre, surrounded by forest and mountain views, with easy access to the slopes.

The planned interiors, currently presented through CGI renders with final finishes and layouts subject to change, centre on a living space that rises through two storeys. A fireplace, dining area and bar give the main living area several gathering points, while two kitchens form part of the design.

Architect Joseph Mills explained the thinking in Consensio’s announcement: “We wanted to combine modern open-plan living with sculptural elements that flow naturally through the interiors, creating a sensorial experience that feels both refined and intimate.”

The dedicated lower floor contains an indoor pool measuring 10 metres, alongside a sauna, hammam and treatment room. A games room and children’s playroom broaden the options beyond the spa.

Bookings are open for private stays of seven nights, running from Sunday to Sunday. The announced whole-chalet prices are €44,900 for low season, €68,000 for mid-season and €139,000 for peak holiday weeks. Montclair is listed as Ultimate Catered, with a private chef, chalet manager, hosts, housekeepers, chauffeur and concierge forming the service team.

2. Chalet Marco Polo, Val d’Isère: gold-leaf glamour and a fromagerie

Consensio’s Chalet Marco Polo sleeps up to 10 adults and four children across six en-suite bedrooms. Its headline feature is a gold-leaf indoor swimming pool designed by Christian Lacroix, a wonderfully extravagant centrepiece for a chalet holiday. This is the one we’d look at closely for a special-occasion trip with a strong food and entertainment brief.

The wine cellar and fromagerie give Marco Polo a distinctive appeal for anyone whose holiday planning revolves around dinner.

Three treatment rooms, a hammam, an outdoor hot tub and a gym give the wellness offering considerable breadth. Guests who want to build recovery time into their week have several different settings to choose from.

The games room and racing simulator bring a more playful side to the property.

Marco Polo sits within the Ultimate Catered collection. Its capacity makes it a useful option for several families or an adult group travelling with children, provided the six-bedroom arrangement suits everyone. Start with the room allocation, then get pleasantly distracted by the pool.

3. Chalet Bacchus, Courchevel Moriond: piste-side access and a proper spa floor

Consensio lists Chalet Bacchus directly on the Belvédère piste in Courchevel Moriond, with ski-in/ski-out access. For a group keen to make skiing the centre of each day, that location is a compelling practical advantage. The chalet sleeps 14 across seven en-suite bedrooms, putting it among the larger options in this selection.

The wellness level is equally persuasive. A 10-metre heated pool sits alongside a sunken hot tub, sauna, hammam and treatment room, giving the group several ways to spend its post-ski hours.

A private cinema and bar extend the evening possibilities. Film lovers get a dedicated space, while the bar offers another place to gather around the catered dining programme.

Seven en-suite bedrooms give Bacchus a straightforward capacity to compare with Le Rocher, which also accommodates up to 14. Here, the combination of direct piste access and the full wellness level is the strongest reason to choose it. A ski-focused group with enthusiastic spa-goers has a particularly good match.

Bacchus is an Ultimate Catered chalet, so the private-property experience includes the dedicated service team described below.

4. Chalet des Légendes, Val d’Isère: fireside evenings with a lighter catering format

Consensio’s Chalet des Légendes accommodates eight adults and four children across five en-suite bedrooms. A fireside living area and dedicated après-ski bar put gathering together firmly at the centre of its appeal.

The indoor pool, hot tub, hammam and treatment room provide a generous wellness line-up. Des Légendes should appeal to travellers who want both a private place to unwind and sociable evenings at home, with chef-prepared dining forming part of the stay.

The important booking distinction is its Relaxed Catered classification. The published service includes a chalet chef, daily continental breakfast plus one special each day, afternoon tea and chef-prepared dinners on five nights. A shared in-resort driver is also part of the description.

Five dinners still make dining in a substantial part of a seven-night holiday. The shared-driver arrangement is particularly worth discussing before arrival if members of the group expect to keep different schedules.

Des Légendes is especially interesting for a group that fits the eight-adult, four-child capacity and likes the balance of a private spa, sociable living spaces and this specific catering format. Choose it with the service arrangements in mind as well as the photographs.

5. Chalet Le Rocher, Val d’Isère: space for a multi-generational escape

Consensio highlights Chalet Le Rocher as particularly well suited to families and multi-generational groups. It sleeps up to 14 across seven en-suite bedrooms, with a dedicated LEGO playroom giving younger guests a space of their own. For a family holiday, that is a genuinely useful detail to put alongside bedroom numbers and spa facilities.

The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub give the wellness-minded members of the group their own reasons to be enthusiastic. A private bar adds another setting for time together.

Seven en-suite bedrooms are worth considering for a gathering of grandparents, parents and children, or several families travelling together. The room allocation will matter as much as the total capacity, so establish who will share before committing.

Le Rocher belongs to the Ultimate Catered collection, bringing the dedicated team and dining format into the family-holiday calculation. We’d shortlist it for travellers who place a dedicated children’s space high on their priorities, while also wanting a pool, spa facilities and a private bar. The LEGO playroom gives it a clear point of difference within these five chalets.

What to check before booking a catered chalet

Consensio’s Ultimate Catered package includes exclusive chalet use, daily housekeeping, and pre-arrival and in-resort concierge support, as well as a team with a chef, chalet manager, hosts and chauffeur. Marco Polo, Bacchus, Le Rocher and Montclair are listed in this category. That staffing is an important part of the comparison, especially for a larger group with several sets of plans.

Cooked breakfast and afternoon tea are part of the published dining offer; canapés are served on five evenings, and chef-prepared dinners on five nights. Des Légendes has its own Relaxed Catered format, with continental breakfast and one additional daily special, plus the shared in-resort driver. Compare those arrangements alongside the pools, bars and bedroom counts: catering and transport will influence the rhythm of the week just as much as the setting.

Your enquiry should begin with the exact dates and room allocation, followed by menus, dietary requirements and how chauffeur or shared-driver arrangements will work for your group. Ask about treatment bookings and plans for the two evenings without a chef-prepared dinner. For Montclair, confirm the current weekly quote and the latest details of the planned interiors before reserving.
