Iconic Maldives
Private island escapeDestination: Maldives, Indian Ocean
Vacation: Private island escape
Seeking: Luxurious living
Highlight: Iconic water villas
If you’re looking for paradise water villas in the Maldives (and, let’s be honest, when aren’t we?) the One&Only Reethi Rah should be extremely high up your list of luxury travel destinations for consideration.
Reethi Rah is one of the world’s most magical places to stay – and has some of the best water villas in the Maldives. Located in the North Malé Atoll, a jewel among a string of coral atolls, lagoons and white sands where turquoise clear waters meet cloudless azure skies and Indian Ocean breezes sway lush palms. A tropical paradise fringed with 12 pristine beaches. Your very own private island escape.
122 resort villas are discreetly positioned along the sweeping bays of the island. Beach villas occupying their own stretch of sandy shore, these villas afford direct views of the ocean and access to a private beach. Décor is sleek with clean lines, a perfect foil for the tropical wood and thatch exteriors. Large verandas with picturesque outdoor seating areas and sun beds all with comfortable, spacious interiors for an indulgent elegant getaway. Reethi Rah’s water villas are situated above the crystalline waters of the lagoon and are connected by walkways from secluded points on the island. Outdoor covered terraces on stilts and split-level verandas with steps into the ocean. Netting suspended like hammocks from the edges of the terrace are perfect for breezy sunbathing. Or you have the option of staying at The Grand Sunset Residence, nestled in the island’s natural greenery with the largest private stretch of beach. A private road leads to this unique ‘residence’, which is closed off by an electronic gate for even more tranquility. With three bedrooms, sleeping up to seven guests, the Grand Sunset Residence is exceptionally spacious and includes a unique outdoor living and dining area in which guests can enjoy meals prepared by their own chef (of course).

“This is our second visit to One&Only Reethi Rah. Our villa was as usual immaculate, smelling fresh, peaceful and extremely private. Getting on our bikes together with our 3 year old to go to breakfast feels like we rented some time from heaven. It is truly a series of magical moments. From dinners to beach visits to chilling on our villa and having a special barbecue on our own beach every thing has been catered according to our special requests from our butler. This is of course due to a great team of staff (around 600 people) that keep the magic happening naturally. The brand that brought these people together under great principles of hospitality definitely deserves a hats off salute. This is as close as you can get to heaven.”
