With its spectacular location in St Jean Bay, Eden Rock St Barths has been the byword for one-of-a-kind hospitality ever since mercurial French Caribbean aviator adventurer and occasional treasure-seeker Rémy de Haenen first welcomed guests to his Eden Rock home on the ocean, during the 1950s. The place quickly established itself as the preferred private and discreet bolt-hole of many glamorous Hollywood characters who quickly became friends of St Barths. Howard Hughes, Greta Garbo, Robert Mitchum, Gore Vidal, Baron Rothschild, David and Peggy Rockefeller and Princess Lee Radziwill, to name but a few of the beautiful and talented men and women who’ve briefly made this Caribbean luxury resort their home.

Eden Rock St Barths is also an ideal destination for families, offering relaxation, play and pleasure. The hotel welcomes children of all ages providing them with a wide variety of fun games and activities from bodyboarding to sandcastle-building.
Voted ‘Best Hotel in The World’ by Condé Nast Traveller in 2016 Eden Rock has fully remade itself since Hurricane Irma passed over the island in September 2017 and there is now so much on offer at Eden Rock St Barths there’s even a dedicated app. Created for Eden Rock guests, clients and friends, InsidER helps you find everything from local activities, to restaurant recommendations, daily news, current events, art and books selection, daily weather forecasts, local issues and flavorful menus. “Eden Rock St Barths truly the ultimate retreat! This hotel is beyond amazing! We have traveled the world and this place is truly the ultimate retreat!! Great location on the beach, impeccable service, attentive staff, amazing restaurant, simply the best! We’ve been staying at Eden Rock for many years now and the level of service is just unbelievable. Fabrice and his team are like our friends, they greet us at the airport when we arrive and take us to the airport when we depart, the service is just wow! Every day Fabrice walks around the restaurant and on the beach to greet his guests and make sure everything is perfect. Now that is service – perfect service!! Many thanks to everyone at ER for making our vacation the best ever, as always!!” Tripadvisor Review
Best food & drink
1. Black truffle & fontina pizza
A table at Eden Rock’s restaurant and bars is a priority reservation for epicureans. The Sand Restaurant and Rémy Bar and the Bar on the Beach nearby, gleam in the reflected blue of the Caribbean. Cuisine is masterminded by world-famous Master Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten who exemplifies a career made stellar with the successful development of Michelin-starred kitchens and restaurants from NYC to Chicago to Tokyo and São Paulo and by writing seminal cookery books as well as presenting TV cooking shows.
Entirely rebuilt and revamped, the Sand Bar is more than ever the culinary heart of the hotel. Its unique setting retains St Barths’ character and laid-back beach style. Try the Black Truffle & Fontina pizza, selection of caviars and Dover Sole Meuniere. The cuisine at Eden Rock alone makes it one of the best hotels in St Barts.
2. Banana & Chocolate
Named after Eden Rock’s first and only other owner before the Matthews family the brand-new Rémy Room & Bar honors the founder’s fabulously wild pioneering spirit. Sample the finest mixology and try one of Eden Rock St Barths’ indulgent drinks, including Banana & Chocolate made with Diplomatico Mantuano rum cooked “sous-vide” with banana, orange and honey bitter and chocolate bitter.
3. Roasted St Bart’s lobster
Being the most iconic sandy stretch of St Barths, St Jean Beach is a safe haven when it comes to paddle-boarding in the clear-blue sea, snorkeling around the coral reefs, or relaxing under the pervasive warm sun. Redesigned and remade, the new ER Beach Bar offers ultimate luxury and comfort all around the newly tiered sundeck set directly onto the beach and then beyond where floats the unmissably much photographed ERock raft.

Calabash Cove Resort & Spa, St Lucia
It’s hard to describe the first impressions of Calabash Cove Resort & Spa in a way that will do the first few steps, and that view, justice, but the closest thing we can liken it to is taking a slow, deep breath and then feeling your whole body begin to relax as you exhale.
Zoetry Marigot Bay, St Lucia
Looking down at Marigot Bay from the meandering island road in the St Lucian hills above as we approached the resort, with its sparkling waters and dramatic rainforest backdrop, was a spectacular way to get reaquainted.
The Lone Star Hotel & Restaurant, Barbados
It really says something that the design of The Lone Star Hotel & Restaurant is so impressive that your gaze is torn between its sleek white structure, and the mesmeric beach it’s nestled on.
