Beautiful beaches in the Caribbean is probably our specialist subject. We’re obsessed. We’ve stood awe-struck along the shores of close to 30 different Caribbean beaches dotted around the region, all offering something different, and all stunningly beautiful. These are our top picks, along with the best hotels to stay at right on the shore.
As well as an overview of each beautiful Caribbean beach, and what we loved most about it, we’ve included links to each luxury hotel and resort on Expedia, so you can easily check dates, prices and book if you’re ready for your next Caribbean adventure.
There’s just something about the Caribbean. It’s like you’re breathing in adventure and wonder as soon as you step off the plane. The first country we visited was Antigua back in 2011. Tropical heat, phenomenal food, warm, generous, kind, welcoming hospitality and so many gorgeous beaches – Antigua has 365, one for every day of the year. We were beyond hooked.
We love the region so much we now try to return at least once a year, and want to visit and revisit as many countries as possible, and spend as much time on the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean as we can.
Of course beauty is subjective. So you may argue the case for a Caribbean beach that’s not on our list, and we’d love you to – it may then make its way on as an addition at a later date after we’ve forced ourselves to go and take a look.
But these are the beaches that, so far, have absolutely floored us the most in the best possible way. Beautiful beaches in the Caribbean so striking we could barely tear ourselves away for lunch or dinner (and we love lunch and dinner) desperately wanting to experience the scene not only during the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets but in every hour of daylight, twilight and moonlight too.

Surreally beautiful
Brilliant white sand, surreally turquoise water, mesmerising pink sunsets and one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at, right on the sand. We’ve never been to a better beach. In fact we’re convinced a better beach doesn’t exist (we’ll keep looking though).
Shoal Bay Beach is effortlessly one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, and Zemi Beach House is the perfect place to experience it. There were so many highlights of our stay here, but breakfast on the beach, toes in the sand, palm trees gently swaying, sipping on fresh coffee was a standout. The freshly baked different flavoured cookies left by the bedside after turndown every day can’t go unmentioned either. Sublime beach, sublime hotel, spectacular island.

Sunset Beach at Half Moon, Jamaica
With two miles of oceanfront and three unique beautiful private beaches, you need to stay at Half Moon.
Pure beach luxury
The two mile stretch of beachfront at Half Moon, Jamaica is one of the most incredible stretches of coastline we’ve ever experienced, and all three of the resort’s private beaches, Sunset Beach, Eclipse Beach and Sunrise Beach are among the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
The crescent shaped Sunset Beach gave the resort its name and is the most iconic, but all three are otherwordly. Runs along the shore, looping through the 400-acre grounds were an unforgettabel highlight. The resort itself is pure luxury, and the most high-end hotel we’ve ever been to that’s absolutely perfected the art of laid-back luxury too. We do change our minds so it depends what day you ask us as to whether this is our favourite hotel, anywhere, but it’s certainly always in our top five.

Barbados beach life at its best.
Alleynes Bay, Barbados
Stay at Fairmont Royal Pavilion. A gorgeous boutique luxury hotel right on a stunning half-mile stretch of powder soft sand.
Ultimate beach relaxation
If you’re looking for the perfect beach holiday, this is it. Alleynes Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean and the Fairmont Royal Pavilion is right on its shores. Room balconies overlook the tranquil water and incredible sunsets can be soaked in with sundowners all over the resort. We recommend ordering a Bajan Sorrel Sour cocktail and heading to dinner early at the Palm Terrace restaurant, the scene is spectacular. Genuinely, it’s something else.
The most relaxing beach vacation we’ve ever had, and somewhere we’d always go back to when we’re in need of rest and rejuventation. The beach is out of this world and you won’t really need or want anything else during your stay, additionally The Lone Star Restaurant, one of the best on the island, is also a very short walk away along the sand.

Sugar Beach, St Lucia
Stay at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort. Set among 100 acres of pristine lush rainforest on the shores of a hidden Caribbean cove, the towering peaks of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pitons all around you.
A beach better than fiction
This beach is amazing, and definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Gorgeous white sand right on the doorstep of one of the best hotels in St Lucia, Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort, but it’s the setting that elevates this beach onto our list, we’ve never seen anything like it.
The Pitons are a natural marvel from wherever you are, but to experience them rising up around you while your toes are pressed into the soft white sand is truly epic (we’re not a fan of that word but honestly there is no other word that does it justice in this instance). It’s like being on a movie-set, but so much better. It’s real.

Stay at Silversands Grand Anse to experience Grenada’s most iconic beach, and its spectacular sunsets.
Iconic Caribbean beach
Grand Anse is epic. It’s long, wide and totally mesmerising, especially at sunset.
We stayed at Silversands Grand Anse which has the longest infinity pool in the Caribbean where the water seems to merge seamlessly with the turquoise Caribbean Sea ahead. One of our favourite memories here was ordering two sorrel rum punches and watching the sunset from the pool, our drinks perched on the edge. The orange-pink sky, sound of the waves and the warm breeze was pure island paradise. Another great option is Spice Island Beach Resort, which also takes up a prime position along Grand Anse. A dreamy lunch overlooking the white sand from its pretty open-air restaurant was one of the most relaxing we’ve ever had. If you’re a beach lover, Grand Anse needs to be on your list.
