Highlight: The longest – and one of the most stunning – infinity pools in the Caribbean
Silversands Grand Anse was a resort we’d wanted to visit for what seemed like forever. It has the longest infinity pool in the Caribbean, the architecture is chic, minimalist, eye-catching and most appealing the hotel’s located right on the shores of Grand Anse, one of the most beautiful beaches in Grenada.
The sorrel welcome drink, a local, deep red, sweet, tart and spicy (it’s hard to describe, the closest thing we can compare it to is spiced cranberry, but it’s so much tastier) punch, accompanied with a shot of Westerhall Estate Grenadian rum with the option to mix the two together or sip separately, was a great sign of things to come. Grenada is known as the Spice Island because so many different herbs and spices grow naturally on the island and are used in a variety of local dishes. The foodie element was also something we were excited about.
After spending a blissful ten days at this incredible luxury resort, we’re happy to report the hype was lived up to.

Best food & drink
1. Asiatique
Our favourite restaurant at Silversands Grand Anse was Thai and Southeast Asian fusion restaurant Asiatique, where the food and service were exceptional. Both the red and green curries were delicious, as was the Singapore noodles and the Gado Gado Indonesian salad of raw and steamed vegetables, hard-boiled eggs and fried tofu with a peanut sauce dressing. In fact, everything we tried at Asiatique was outstanding.
2. Grenadian Grill
Grenadian Grill, also on site, offers a beautiful setting next to the stunning infinity pool with views of the beach and the Caribbean Sea beyond. The food is fine dining, dishes are beautifully presented and tasty. We loved the Pepper Pot Croquettes as a starter, a crispy Caribbean stew served with a spicy pineapple glaze, chadon beni and cucumber salad, and our favourite mains were the Cornish Hen, char-grilled and seasoned with island spices, and the smoked paprika brushed Swordfish Skewers, char-grilled with tropical salsa.
3. Dodgy Dock
A short taxi ride away is Dodgy Dock, one of the island’s most popular bars and restaurants. Highly recommend going on Wednesday Street Food Night, the liveliest night of the week with local food vendors and live music. We tried the national dish, Oil Down – a tasty stew with breadfruit, salted meat, vegetables and dumplings simmered in coconut milk and spices, along with some seafood skewers with prawns and fresh fish, chicken rotis, jerk chicken, flame-grilled corn, and sautéed vegetables. All of which was delicious. Had we not been so full we’d have tried everything as it all looked, and smelled, amazing. After dinner, and a few rum punches, we spent the rest of a very fun evening on the dance floor.
Stay
There’s a variety of rooms, suites and villas at Silversands Grand Anse and the design is outstanding. Bright open spaces, chic minimalist colour schemes and wooden furniture and decorations with sleek straight lines made us feel like we were living in the pages of a luxury interiors magazine. We stayed in an Ocean View Room directly overlooking the infinity pool and the sea beyond. The balcony was more like another beautiful room than a balcony and a vacation highlight was having coffee there watching our yoga instructor set up for our 8am class, before meandering down to meet them for an hour of yoga right next to the beach. Afternoon rums watching the outrageously beautiful sunsets on the balcony was another. And so was the tent-like curtain that swept around the deliciously comfy and very large bed, controlled by a switch next to our pillows. Honestly, we could go on about this room forever it was that good. The design in the hotel, throughout every room, suite and the spectacular villas we saw, is world-class
Explore
Grenada is a special mix of tropical rainforest interior and spectacular coastline with some of the best beaches we’ve ever seen. There’s plenty to explore on the island. The most enjoyable trips we did were to Dodgy Dock for Wednesday Street Food night, again highly recommend doing this while you’re in Grenada, forays to Silversands Beach House – you have complete access to Silversands Grand Anse’s boutique sister resort during your stay which is a short taxi shuttle ride away- for complete tranquillity and relaxation on what’s now one of our new favourite beaches, and a visit to BBC beach, also known as Mourne Rouge Beach, and lunch – Mediterranean chicken wraps, crispy fries, rum punches and affogato for dessert – at Brisa Mar restaurant and bar with views directly overlooking the bay. Absolutely stunning.
We also spent a lot of time exploring closer to home, taking sun-kissed strolls along the beautiful wide two-mile-stretch of white sand that is Grand Anse beach. One very leisurely day we walked to Spice Island Beach Resort, a gorgeous luxury hotel further along the sand, for an excellent, and very relaxing lunch at Sea and Surf Terrace and Bar where we ate rotis with curried chickpeas, kuchela, mango chutney and sides of fries with cold Caribs to drink and frozen yoghurt and coconut sorbet for dessert. Paradise.
Relax
The amount of time we spent at the spa at Silversands Grand Anse speaks volumes about how good it was, we were there most days. It has its own spectacular pool (pictured), well-equipped gym and fitness room, sauna, steam room, ice room, ice bucket and a great variety of wellness treatments.
We indulged in an hour long couples massage that was exceptional. After a few days we stopped asking the question, ‘shall we go to the spa today?’ and just took it as a given that we’d make our way there at some point.
Spa aside there are plenty of gorgeous spaces around the resort to unwind and relax. We’d highly recommend cocktails by the pool – or in the pool – as the sun sets. We were told it’s the most spectacular spot to watch the sunset anywhere on the island and we didn’t come across anywhere better.

Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada
There’s a special aura to Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada. It struck us as soon as we arrived. The interior design is beautiful; white fans and woven wooden lampshades dotted overhead, lush green tropical vines spiralling across the ceiling, over pristine white archways, and the bright green leaves of potted plants reaching up between the white and tan-coloured furniture. But it was the sense of calm, homeliness and assured comfort that was most enchanting.
Silversands Beach House, Grenada
A spectacular boutique luxury hotel immersed in Grenada’s natural beauty, Silversands Beach House wowed us on arrival with its unique show-stopping architecture and left us completely obsessed with its dreamy secluded white sand beach.
Calabash Cove Resort & Spa, St Lucia
It’s hard to describe the first impressions of Calabash Cove Resort & Spa in a way that will do the first few steps, and that view, justice, but the closest thing we can liken it to is taking a slow, deep breath and then feeling your whole body begin to relax as you exhale.
