Destination: Grenada, Caribbean
Vacation: Calm, seclusion, tropical hideaway
Seeking: Chic accommodations, beach relaxation
Highlight: Unique architecture, gorgeous white-sand beach
A spectacular boutique luxury hotel immersed in Grenada’s natural beauty, Silversands Beach House wowed us on arrival with its unique show-stopping architecture and left us completely obsessed with its dreamy secluded white sand beach.
The broad sail-like canopies that cover the hotel’s gleaming white buildings and accommodations give a luxury tent-like sense of adventure and outdoorsy-ness, which we absolutely loved. Silversands Beach House excels at the outdoors-indoors aesthetic.
The secluded beach lies between dramatic stone bluffs. It’s an intimate, stress-meltingly relaxing stretch of sand with a sense of adventure too. The faraway views of the rolling tropical green hilltops are mesmerising, and the sea is brilliant shades of turquoise and blue.
This is the perfect place to sip cold Caribs, read books, slide beneath the cool waters of the infinity pool, stroll along the powder soft sand, and eat pizza fresh from the wood-fired oven. Paradise on earth.

Best food & drink
1. Azzurro
The restaurant at Silversands Beach House is a fusion of Italian and Caribbean cuisine. Nestled in the heart of the resort with part of the stone bluff as a backdrop and a large deck overlooking the beach Azzurro is a beautiful place to dine day and night. We loved the brew and slice night where we could sample all the different pizza flavours while listening to live music.
2. Asiatique
One of the best things about Silversands Beach House is that you can access Silversands Grand Anse too, where there are a couple of really good restaurants to try. Our favourite was Thai and Southeast Asian fusion restaurant Asiatique, where the food and service were exceptional. Both the red and green curries were delicious, as was the Singapore noodles and the Gado Gado Indonesian salad of raw and steamed vegetables, hard-boiled eggs and fried tofu with a peanut sauce dressing. In fact everything we tried at Asiatique was outstanding.
3. Dodgy Dock
A short taxi ride away is Dodgy Dock, one of the island’s most popular bars and restaurants. Highly recommend going on Wednesday Street Food Night, the liveliest night of the week with local food vendors and live music. We tried the national dish, Oil Down – a tasty stew with breadfruit, salted meat, vegetables and dumplings simmered in coconut milk and spices, along with some seafood skewers with prawns and fresh fish, chicken rotis, jerk chicken, flame-grilled corn, and sautéed vegetables. All of which was delicious. Had we not been so full we’d have tried everything as it all looked, and smelled, amazing. After dinner, and a few rum punches, we spent the rest of a very fun evening on the dance floor.
Stay
There are 28 gorgeous, light-filled, modern accommodations Silversands Beach House, giving it a secluded, exclusive feel. Our top picks are the Panoramic Ocean View room perched on the cliffside facing Dr. Grooms beach with spectacular views from the balcony, and our absolute favourite the Beachfront Bungalow which steps from the white sand shore. Being so close to the sand and the turquoise sea is surreally beautiful giving this room a sense of place that’s hard to beat.
Explore
Grenada has a great mix of tropical rainforests, waterfalls and stunning beaches, offering plenty to see and do. Close to home we particularly enjoyed wandering along Grande Anse beach for a relaxing lunch at Spice Island Beach Resort, another luxury hotel worth visiting during your stay. And a short drive away Mourne Rouge Beach, known as BBC beach, was one of our favourite excursions. We had lunch and cocktails at Brisa Mar, which has unbelievable views of the crescent bay – and a solid rum punch.
Relax
After many months of hustle and work leading up to this trip it took a minute to unwind – but lazing on the tranquil beach at Silversands Beach House made it virtually impossible not to, and it wasn’t long before thoughts of whether to order another Carib, take a dip in the sea or the infinity pool were all that occupied our thoughts. There’s plenty of wellness options on site too, including personalised relaxing spa treatments, therapeutic massages and one of the most beautiful outdoor gyms we’ve ever seen.

Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada
There’s a special aura to Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada. It struck us as soon as we arrived. The interior design is beautiful; white fans and woven wooden lampshades dotted overhead, lush green tropical vines spiralling across the ceiling, over pristine white archways, and the bright green leaves of potted plants reaching up between the white and tan-coloured furniture. But it was the sense of calm, homeliness and assured comfort that was most enchanting.
Silversands Grand Anse, Grenada
Silversands Grand Anse was a resort we’d wanted to visit for what seemed like forever. It has the longest infinity pool in the Caribbean, the architecture is chic, minimalist, eye-catching and most appealing the hotel’s located right on the shores of Grand Anse, one of the most beautiful beaches in Grenada.
Calabash Cove Resort & Spa, St Lucia
It’s hard to describe the first impressions of Calabash Cove Resort & Spa in a way that will do the first few steps, and that view, justice, but the closest thing we can liken it to is taking a slow, deep breath and then feeling your whole body begin to relax as you exhale.
