Pilates on the Le Morne Peninsula, yoga on Mauritius’s northwest coast and nutrition workshops at the foot of Le Morne Brabant: Beachcomber’s new wellbeing calendar offers several ways to give an island escape a little more purpose. There’s room for a fairly committed fitness week, a gentler daily practice or a holiday with food firmly at its centre.
Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels has announced eight expert-led residencies between October 2026 and April 2027, spread across Paradis Beachcomber, Dinarobin Beachcomber and Trou aux Biches Beachcomber. Following its inaugural 2025/26 wellbeing programme, the group is bringing together visiting practitioners and its own resort teams for sessions spanning movement, nutrition, meditation and sound experiences.
Former Olympic gymnast Ellie Downie MBE and London nutritionist Clarissa Lenherr are the two UK names to know. Their programmes have quite different rhythms, so it’s worth choosing the experience that appeals before choosing your travel dates.

A Pilates-focused week with Ellie Downie
Ellie Downie will lead her Strength, Length & Tone fitness retreat at Paradis Beachcomber from 2–8 February 2027. The Manchester-based former gymnast represented Great Britain at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and at World and European Championships, before retiring from international competition in 2023 and turning her attention to wellbeing through her Pilates studio.
Her SLT method brings strength, flexibility and balance into structured, varied workouts. At Paradis, the schedule pairs strength, endurance and flexibility work with two daily exercise sessions. Guests may also attend an extra midday class on two days of the week, plus a 45-minute Pilates workshop open to all levels.
The all-levels Pilates workshop is a useful detail for anyone drawn to the retreat who wants an approachable introduction to the practice. It’s worth distinguishing that workshop from the wider exercise schedule when enquiring, and discussing which sessions suit your experience. An Olympic background makes Downie an interesting teacher; the practical question is how her programme fits the way you want to spend your own week.
The Longevity Table with Clarissa Lenherr
Clarissa Lenherr’s 8–14 April 2027 retreat at Dinarobin Beachcomber puts nutrition at the centre of the itinerary. Called The Longevity Table, it will explore the role of food in longevity, influences on ageing and ways to apply the ideas beyond the retreat itself.
Lenherr has more than ten years in practice and works from a Harley Street clinic, with a focus on gut health, energy and metabolic health. A graduate of the College of Naturopathic Medicine, she is a BANT-registered nutritionist and CNHC-registered practitioner. Her work also includes nutrition workshops for organisations and international speaking on gut health and longevity.
Lenherr will lead culinary workshops and group sessions as part of the Dinarobin programme. The resort team will also lead yoga and sound healing, alongside meditation and breathwork, giving the week a broader wellbeing rhythm around its food-led focus. A specially curated Longevity Menu will be available on two nights during the retreat.
Six more wellbeing residencies for your diary
The wider calendar includes practitioners from Mauritius, Austria, France and South Africa. Yoga appears in several forms, from aerial workshops to daily hour-long practices, while the fitness residencies offer different session lengths and combinations of movement.
4–10 October 2026, Paradis: aerial yoga with Agniezska Koziarska. The season opens with aerial yoga and aerial yin yoga workshops led by a Mauritius-based practitioner with more than 25 years in fitness and wellbeing. For travellers considering an imminent October escape, this is the first residency on the calendar. Its distinctive draw is the opportunity to explore these two forms of aerial practice within the workshop programme.
6–12 December 2026, Paradis: Pilates, yoga and strength with Victoria Wald. The Austrian fitness and Pilates coach will offer a varied daily class programme combining all three disciplines. This is a December option for anyone who enjoys a mixture of movement across the week. The announced variety gives you several practices to explore during the same residency, with Wald leading the daily programme.
10–14 December 2026, Dinarobin: yoga with Aurélie Fleuriau-Chateau. The Mauritius-based teacher’s residency is built around an accessible approach to yoga. This shorter December programme places the practice at the centre of a Dinarobin stay. Its dates overlap with Wald’s Paradis residency from 10–12 December, giving travellers in that window a choice between a yoga-focused visit and a mixed movement programme at a different hotel.
25–31 January 2027, Paradis: daily yoga with Eve Isambourg. The yoga instructor, who co-founded Mana wellbeing space, will lead a one-hour practice each day, described as part of a seven-part inner journey. A daily hour gives this residency a clear rhythm, making it worth considering if you’d like a regular yoga practice to shape the week. The sequence also gives the sessions a connected theme.
1–8 February 2027, Trou aux Biches: Face Soul Yoga with Aurélia Del Sol. The French practitioner will lead five one-hour classes during the week. Her partner, chef Damien Puschmann, will bring guests together for a Joy Table evening, pairing a meal with a reflection centred on grounding. It’s a February option that places yoga and a shared dining experience within the same residency, on the island’s northwest coast.
20–27 March 2027, Paradis: fitness with Juls Meintjes. Meintjes, a South African entrepreneur and content creator who works as a fitness coach, will lead a five-day wellbeing experience within this residency window. Sessions will last 30–40 minutes and are designed for different levels. Those shorter sessions may appeal if you want a regular fitness commitment while leaving plenty of space in the diary for the rest of your Mauritius holiday.
Choose the setting, then check the details
Paradis sits on the Le Morne Peninsula in southwest Mauritius, while Dinarobin is at the foot of Le Morne Brabant. Trou aux Biches offers a different base on the northwest coast. Golf-minded travelling companions can also explore the appeal of a Beachcomber golf escape when weighing up Paradis and Dinarobin.
February requires a little attention to the hotel name: Del Sol’s Trou aux Biches residency and Downie’s Paradis retreat overlap from 2–8 February. Choose the practitioner and property together, and confirm any arrangements directly rather than planning around attendance at both.
Beachcomber also presents its Art of Wellness spa experiences as a complement to the residencies. When enquiring about your chosen week, ask the hotel to confirm participation terms, any additional charges, advance-booking requirements and the session timetable. For the April nutrition retreat, check which nights the Longevity Menu will be served before settling on arrival and departure dates.
