Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana has opened on the shores of Cabeza de Toro, bringing Hyatt’s socially focused, adults-only all-inclusive brand to the Dominican Republic for the first time.

The new beachfront resort has 467 guestrooms and suites, flexible restaurants, extensive wellness facilities and activities influenced by Dominican culture. Its opening on 31 August expands Hyatt’s presence in one of the Caribbean’s busiest resort destinations.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana lets guests move freely between fitness classes, creative workshops, beach time and sociable evening events rather than following a fixed daily programme. Hyatt describes the intended audience as including social explorers, digital nomads and travellers looking for meaningful local experiences.

“The opening of Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana reflects both the continued strength of the Dominican Republic as one of the world’s premier leisure destinations and our long-term commitment to growing alongside it,” Javier Águila, president of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection, said.

Hyatt worked with Grupo Anacaona to bring the resort to Punta Cana. The opening takes Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection portfolio in the Dominican Republic to 30 resorts and more than 16,000 rooms.

Rooms overlooking the ocean and Bávaro Lagoon

Located between the Caribbean shoreline and Bávaro Lagoon, Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana takes inspiration from its coastal setting in its interiors. Rooms and suites combine natural textures with warm neutral colours and accents inspired by the Dominican Republic.

Furnished balconies extend the living space outdoors, while available views take in the ocean or lagoon. The resort website also lists swim-out accommodation among its room options, alongside access to the Vantage Club for guests choosing an upgraded stay.

The wider property includes pools, a fitness centre, concierge service and meeting facilities. Dogs are permitted subject to the hotel’s policies, making the resort an option for travellers who want to bring a pet to Punta Cana.

Oceanfront wedding venues and event spaces are also available, with planning services for ceremonies, celebrations, corporate meetings and group stays. Pre-opening plans described a convention centre with capacity for as many as 1,000 people, although guests organising an event should confirm the current configuration directly with the resort.

Flexible restaurants and a hidden speakeasy

Dining at Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana spans five à la carte restaurants, an international food hall and a bar and grill. Seven bars and lounges serve premium domestic and international spirits, while a concealed speakeasy offers a more intimate evening setting.

Sandbar Eatery is the resort’s food hall, bringing several dining concepts together in one casual space from morning into the evening. Across the property, menus mix global dishes with flavours linked to Dominican culinary traditions.

Zenda Wellness Café offers fresh, nourishing dishes alongside the resort’s broader choice of indulgent food. Locally sourced Dominican coffee is also central to several daytime experiences, while cocktails and informal beachside dining keep the atmosphere relaxed after sunset.

The wider Hyatt Vivid all-inclusive format covers multiple restaurants without reservation requirements, premium-brand drinks, daily housekeeping and complimentary Wi-Fi. Minibars are stocked with bottled water, juice, soft drinks and beer, while room service is scheduled from 7am until 11pm.

Paddleboard yoga and Dominican-inspired spa rituals

Zenda Spa is the centre of the resort’s wellness programme, with treatments drawing on Dominican botanicals and traditions. Its Dominican Ritual Collection incorporates locally sourced cacao and tropical fruits, connecting the treatments to ingredients grown in the region.

Indoor and outdoor fitness areas support functional training alongside yoga, mindfulness classes and recovery sessions. Guests can also use padel and pickleball courts for additional ways to stay active.

One of the signature activities, Wave Hello to Wellness, combines paddleboard yoga on the Caribbean Sea with wellness-oriented nutrition. Wellness Brew Sessions take a more social approach, pairing Dominican coffee and healthy bites with live DJ sets.

Beach yoga and indoor-outdoor workouts form part of the regular programme. The hotel also promotes catamaran excursions to Saona Island, giving guests the option to leave the resort and explore one of the Dominican Republic’s best-known coastal destinations.

Art workshops, stargazing and relaxed social events

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana’s creative programme is designed around local culture rather than a conventional resort entertainment timetable. Paint Your Way In begins as an art workshop and ends with access to the property’s hidden speakeasy, turning the bar’s entrance into part of the experience.

A Dominican Art Mural focuses on the region’s music, food and artistic heritage. Other scheduled activities include painting sessions, locally inspired kite-making workshops, live music and gatherings timed around sunset.

The Local Tuk Tuk Moment creates a Dominican-inspired social setting and photo opportunity, while Starry Night offers guided stargazing beneath Punta Cana’s night sky. The flexible programme lets guests choose activities without following a fixed itinerary.

That flexible structure reflects Hyatt Vivid’s identity as a casual adults-only resort. Pop-up events and daytime activities are intended to encourage interaction, while quiet spaces and mindfulness sessions give guests room to step away.

Hyatt Vivid expands beyond Mexico

Hyatt introduced the Vivid brand with Hyatt Vivid Grand Island in Cancún in April 2024. The original all-suite property established the formula of casual dining, wellness and flexible social experiences that now shapes the Punta Cana opening.

The brand’s portfolio has since expanded to include Hyatt Vivid Cancún and Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen in Mexico. Punta Cana is its first Dominican Republic address and brings the concept to a destination where Hyatt already operates a substantial collection of all-inclusive resorts.

Across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection now contains more than 150 resorts with nearly 58,000 rooms. The group encompasses several adults-only and family-focused brands, allowing Hyatt Vivid to occupy the more casual, socially connected end of the portfolio.

Rates, loyalty points and future Punta Cana openings

A pre-opening report published in early August found rates from $409 per night for stays beginning on 1 September. Prices depend on the room category, availability and travel dates, so current rates should be checked through Hyatt before booking.

World of Hyatt members can earn 500 bonus points for qualifying nights at Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana under the New Hotels Bonus Offer. Travellers should review the offer’s registration requirements and eligible stay dates when reserving.

Hyatt is also planning further expansion in the Dominican Republic. Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana is expected to open in 2026, followed by the family-friendly Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana in 2029.
