Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler will host a four-day Canadian Thanksgiving programme from Friday, October 9 to Monday, October 12, 2026, combining seasonal dining with family workshops and restorative time in British Columbia’s Coast Mountains.

The centrepiece is a Sunday evening buffet at Braidwood Tavern, but the programme extends well beyond dinner. Guests can decorate pumpkins, make wreaths with foraged materials, create a custom steak rub or watch warm maple syrup turn into taffy over fresh snow. Adults can also join a botanical spa workshop or paint a Whistler landscape with local artist Andrea Mueller.

The mountain resort retained Two Michelin Keys in 2026, with its rooms, suites and private residences providing several options for families or groups planning a long weekend together. Whistler itself enters autumn with colourful mountain scenery, cooler walking weather and seasonal events before the winter ski season begins.

Thanksgiving dinner at Braidwood Tavern

Located inside Four Seasons Resort Whistler, Braidwood Tavern will host the weekend’s principal Thanksgiving meal on Sunday evening. The restaurant’s relaxed mountain setting suits a generous buffet and informal celebration.

The planned selection includes turkey carving stations, prime rib roast, seasonal salads and risotto prepared at a Parmesan wheel station. Traditional Thanksgiving desserts will follow, including pumpkin pie.

The resort has not yet published the buffet’s price or serving hours. It has also not confirmed whether a separate reservation will be necessary, so guests planning their stay around dinner should check arrangements directly with the resort.

Smaller food moments will continue throughout the weekend. The Cabin, the resort’s outdoor dining space, will serve a complimentary Thanksgiving-inspired treat created for the occasion. In the lobby, an afternoon Harvest Table will offer shared seasonal treats in a more informal setting.

Guests can stop for something sweet between workshops, spa appointments or time outdoors before gathering for Sunday’s full celebration.

Family workshops draw on Canadian autumn traditions

The resort’s hands-on programme brings several familiar autumn rituals into its mountain setting. Pumpkin decorating offers a simple option for families, while a wreath-making workshop will use locally foraged ingredients to reflect the surrounding landscape.

Guests can also prepare their own SIDECUT steak rub, connecting the activity to the resort’s steakhouse. A maple taffy experience will follow a classic Canadian method, with warm maple syrup poured over fresh snow until it cools into a chewy sweet.

For children aged five to 12, Whistler Cubs will provide a guided evening of interactive games and crafts. The programme is designed to give younger guests a dedicated space to play and create while parents spend time elsewhere in the resort. Session times have not been included in the initial announcement.

At least one Thanksgiving experience available through the resort requires advance registration with the Concierge by 6pm on the previous day, according to the Four Seasons Whistler seasonal page. As requirements may vary between activities, families should reserve preferred sessions before arrival or soon after checking in.

Paint and Sip joins the adult programme

Older guests can take part in a Paint and Sip session led by Andrea Mueller, a local artist whose colourful work often draws on mountain landscapes and outdoor life. Participants will receive guidance as they create their own interpretation of Whistler on canvas.

A separate spa scrub workshop will focus on locally sourced botanicals and other natural ingredients. It offers a practical introduction to the materials behind the resort’s seasonal wellness treatments, while giving guests an activity that feels rooted in the region.

Prices and session times for both workshops remain unconfirmed. Their inclusion gives adults a creative alternative to the dining programme, while Whistler Cubs provides an evening option for children within the specified age range.

Botanical spa treatments offer a quieter Thanksgiving

Set within the resort, the Spa is offering three treatments inspired by plants and materials associated with the surrounding landscape.

The Mountain Botanicals Massage was developed with Sḵwálwen Botanicals, an Indigenous skincare company founded by Leigh Joseph and connected to Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh, or Squamish, plant knowledge. The massage uses wild rose, nettle, arnica and rainforest oil.

For an exfoliating ritual, Mountain Wisdom Exfoliation combines wild rose and French pink clay with sugar and shea butter. The Salish Salt Stone Massage uses heated salt stones with releasing techniques to ease tension.

Complimentary fitness sessions will help guests maintain their regular routines during the holiday. The schedule includes:

  • Mat Pilates
  • Mountain Stretch
  • Stretch & Restore
  • Hatha Yoga

Class times have not yet been published, and spa treatments should be booked separately. Guests hoping to balance Thanksgiving dinner with quieter time can build a day around a morning class, an afternoon treatment and the evening buffet.

Whistler’s wider Thanksgiving weekend

Beyond the resort, Thanksgiving in Whistler runs across the same October 9 to 12 weekend. The destination’s seasonal programme encompasses restaurant menus, family entertainment, outdoor activities and early winter shopping in Whistler Village and Creekside.

Whistler Blackcomb’s Legendary Turkey Sale is expected to return with discounts on winter equipment, bikes and accessories at participating shops. Those retail offers and destination events are separate from the Four Seasons programme and provide additional options for guests exploring the village.

Tourism Whistler is also promoting a CAD 100 dining credit with qualifying stays of at least three nights at participating accommodation. The offer uses the booking code FALLDINING and applies to eligible arrivals through November 30, 2026, subject to availability. It is a destination-wide promotion rather than a Four Seasons package, so travellers should confirm whether their chosen booking qualifies.

Autumn in Whistler sits between the busy summer and ski periods. Walking routes and mountain views remain central to a stay, while cooler days suit spa visits, leisurely meals and unhurried time around the resort.

Planning a Four Seasons Whistler Thanksgiving stay

The Canadian Thanksgiving programme runs from October 9 to 12, with the main Braidwood Tavern buffet taking place on Sunday evening. It is distinct from the resort’s US Thanksgiving programme in November.

Guests should confirm activity schedules, age requirements and charges with the Concierge before arrival. Advance spa reservations are also advisable for the botanical treatments, especially during the holiday weekend.

The programme suits families who want organised children’s activities alongside adult workshops, as well as couples interested in an autumn break centred on dining and wellness. Reservations and updated programme details are available through the Four Seasons Whistler Thanksgiving page.
