Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia is opening its 57th-floor infinity pool to visitors through a limited-time weekday experience benefiting Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Pool with a Purpose costs USD 300 for two guests and includes up to four hours of access to the indoor pool and its accompanying wellness facilities. Two glasses of Prosecco or non-alcoholic sparkling wine are included, and the hotel says 100 per cent of proceeds are donated to CHOP.

Announced on September 29, the experience is available Monday through Thursday, with reservations handled by the hotel’s spa. It gives visitors a way to spend time in a space normally reserved for registered hotel guests, without making an overnight stay the basis of the visit.

A 57th-floor pool overlooking Philadelphia

The hotel’s indoor infinity-edge pool sits on the 57th floor of Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center. Sweeping city views are part of the appeal, bringing a different perspective to a swim than a conventional hotel pool at ground level.

Its usual restriction to registered hotel guests makes the new offer useful for people who want to experience this part of the property without booking a room. A Philadelphia resident can plan a weekday visit, while a traveller staying elsewhere can include it in a city break.

The pool is indoors, so the experience does not depend on the conditions that shape an outdoor pool afternoon. For a late-September launch, that is a practical detail: the attraction is the elevated setting and the water, rather than a promise of sunshine or outdoor sunbathing.

The booking is for two people, making it straightforward to arrange with a partner or friend. With up to four hours available, there is room to give the visit a substantial part of the day rather than treating it as a quick swim between other plans. The skyline views are there throughout, whether the focus is swimming or simply spending time above the city.

What the USD 300 package includes

Pool with a Purpose combines time in the pool with access to the sauna and steam room, as well as showers and locker rooms.

The listed price covers two guests, equivalent to USD 150 each when shared. The allowance is up to four hours, so travellers should arrange their visit around the session confirmed by the spa. It is a defined pool-and-wellness experience, with the included facilities set out in the hotel’s offer.

The two glasses of sparkling wine can be Prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative. That choice lets guests enjoy the same celebratory element without having to opt for alcohol, whether they are marking an occasion or simply setting aside a weekday for themselves.

The hotel’s support for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

Four Seasons says the full proceeds from Pool with a Purpose will go to CHOP. The September launch coincides with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, while the hotel describes its support and fundraising for the hospital as a commitment that continues throughout the year.

Nic Watkins, Director of Spa & Wellness, said: “There is something special about creating a moment for someone to simply pause and take care of themselves, particularly when that moment can also extend care to others.”

“Pool with a Purpose brings those ideas together beautifully. Guests can experience a place that means so much to us while knowing their time here is also helping support children and families in our community.”

The relationship has a documented history beyond this new booking. In an October 2020 account, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia said the Four Seasons Parkway Run & Walk, founded by Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, had been held for 18 years. The hospital identified the annual September event as its Cancer Center’s largest annual fundraiser.

That earlier event brought fundraising into a run-and-walk format. Pool with a Purpose offers guests another way to participate in the hotel’s support for CHOP, this time through a paid experience within the property. The new package names the hospital as its beneficiary and connects the contribution to its work in paediatric care and research.

CHOP’s Research Institute says it is home to one of the country’s largest paediatric research programmes. Its work brings scientific research together with clinical care to develop solutions for children’s health. That gives context to the hospital’s wider mission, which the hotel is supporting through the proceeds of these bookings.

A separate option for a private evening swim

Travellers looking for private pool time should distinguish Pool with a Purpose from the hotel’s Swim Under the Stars experience. Four Seasons introduced that separate offer in 2024 as a private, late-night booking for groups of up to eight people.

The 2024 announcement described access from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., with additional food and drink options. Its format was built around private evening use, giving it a different purpose from the new weekday package for two.

Pool with a Purpose offers up to four hours of access and includes the two glasses of sparkling wine, with proceeds benefiting CHOP. It should be booked on those terms, rather than with an expectation that it carries the private-use arrangements or late-night timing of Swim Under the Stars.

For a couple or pair of friends interested in the charitable visit, the new package is the relevant enquiry. Anyone arranging a larger gathering or seeking a private evening should ask the hotel about the separate experience and its current availability.

Booking a weekday visit

Reservations for Pool with a Purpose are available through the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. The offer runs Monday through Thursday for a limited time, so it is worth checking availability before building a day’s plans around it.

For a short city break, check that your stay overlaps with one of those weekdays. A weekend-only itinerary will not fit the stated booking window, while local visitors have the option of choosing a weekday specifically for the experience.

When contacting the spa, ask for the available dates and session times, and confirm the arrangements for both guests. The hotel’s listed package is USD 300 for two people; booking together keeps the enquiry aligned with the offer rather than treating it as an individual pool pass.

The hotel also states that it does not provide tax certificates in connection with purchasing the experience. Anyone who needs that documentation should take this condition into account before paying.

The spa is the reservation contact for the visit at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center, One North 19th Street.
