Beautifully laid-back Paros and Mykonos honeymoon spots
If you’re looking for a chilled-out honeymoon destination that has everything from flawless beaches to traditional Greek charm, look no further than these two neighbouring islands.
In the heart of the Cyclades, Paros and Mykonos are just a 45-minute boat ride away from each other. Both islands offer everything you need to reset after the big day – from Mykonos’ glamorous party vibes to Paros’ wilder shores. Here’s our pick of the best Paros and Mykonos honeymoon spots to visit as newlyweds.
Mykonos is one of the most picturesque Greek islands in the Cyclades. Turquoise beaches, Michelin-star restaurants and dreamy white-washed towns – it really does have it all. In Mykonos Town, you can wander through its maze of streets and take in the iconic windmills. Beyond the town, the island’s iconic beaches include Psarou (with the clearest waters on the island) and party utopia, Super Paradise. The island’s reputation for luxury and exclusivity is well-earned – some of the world’s best hotels are located on its shores. But there are also plenty of quieter spots to soak up the island’s serene beauty.
Paros has a more organic feel and a rising food scene – think delicious Greek cheeses, fragrant oregano and contemporary wines. The fishing village of Naoussa is like Mykonos Town’s mellow cousin, with its idyllic harbour and small seafood restaurants. Adventure-lovers are fast discovering its reputation as a windsurfing and kitesurfing hotspot, but it’s also possible to just relax and hide away. The neighbouring islands make the perfect pairing for discerning honeymooners.

The coolest hotel to stay on the more rugged side of the island, with its own private beach.
Escape to The Wild
Mykonos
Honeymoon cool
Close to the best beach clubs and nestled on its own cliffside spot, The Wild is one of the best boutique honeymoon hotels in Mykonos. The pool stretches the entire length of the hotel and overlooks the stunning beach below.
Down at sea level, you can dive from the rocks and snorkel in the crystal waters. Book an early slot in the open-air gym (if you feel like exercising that is) and you could be stretching or lifting to the best sunrise ocean views. It’s the ultimate Mykonos honeymoon spot.

A boho-chill retreat by day, just a stone’s throw from the party by night.
Stay close to Mykonos Town at Rocabella
Mykonos
Stunning retreat
Just before our honeymoon, Rocabella had an extensive renovation and the newly landscaped pool area is nothing short of stunning.
With breezy wooden canopies and day beds, a sweeping infinity pool framed with succulents and an uber cool bar, you’d be forgiven for venturing no further than this hotel. They also have a spot in Santorini if you feel like extending your honeymoon further.

Hands down the most picturesque sunset spot to eat in Mykonos Town.
Eat at Kastro’s
Mykonos
Ocean views
Kastro’s is nothing short of legendary, and because of its reputation as one of the most iconic places to eat in Mykonos, you’ll need to book a few months in advance. But this place is seriously worth it.
Ask for a table on the side terrace and you’ll get the dreamiest view of the ocean with Mykonos’ infamous windmills in the distance. Order the Greek mezze, Moussaka sphere and king prawn and mussel linguine, and thank me later.

Get lost in the white-washed cobbled streets or drink sundowners in the stunning harbour.
Wander the streets of Mykonos town
Mykonos
Exploring Mykonos
Just walking hand-in-hand around this beautiful town is the perfect way to spend a day. Head to Little Venice where the medieval fishing houses hang precariously over the Aegean.
The Church of Paraportiani is another highlight that I kept coming back to, blending Byzantine and Western architecture. While exploring the town, make sure to stop by Marios Art for some incredible handmade ceramics, and finish at Scarpa Bar for moreish cocktails and sunset views.

Where excellent food and flowing drinks are served straight to your sunbed.
Hit up beach clubs like Scorpios and Alemagou
Mykonos
Mykonos beach clubs
Save at least two lazy days on your Mykonos honeymoon for both of these Mykonos beach clubs.
Scorpios is a hedonist’s dream, with several sundrenched beach areas to choose from, rustic-cool design and a whole host of events to plan your trip around – there’s everything from slow food courses to Shamanic rituals. While Alemagou, on the north of the island, is unpretentious with a laidback beach bar and chilled DJ sets. Plus, there’s a beach boutique with sustainable outfits to choose.

The place with queues all the way down to the shore, serving fresh grilled fish and ice-cold rosé.
Find Kiki’s Tavern and the ‘secret beach’
Mykonos
Kiki’s Tavern
As featured in Goop and apparently beloved by Kim Kardashian, the reputation of this tiny restaurant (that functions without electricity) precedes it.
On the quieter side of the island, you’ll need to drive to find it. You also can’t reserve a table at Kiki’s Tavern, so it’s best just to wait out the queue. But, the stunning neighbouring beach, Agios Sostis, and the free cold rosé really takes the edge off. We took it in turns to wait and dip in the sea and before we knew it, we were being seated and tucking into a whole seabass with endless Greek salads with crumbly grilled feta and the juiciest tomatoes.

Unadulterated views of Mykonos Town with a cool pre-party vibe.
Head to 180 Sunset Bar
Mykonos
Jaw-dropping views
While you might not be in full-on party mode on your honeymoon, 180 Sunset Bar is the perfect place to enjoy some drinks with live music and dancing. Obviously, the views are jaw-dropping – it’s the best place to take in Mykonos Town’s expanse of cubic white buildings and the sweeping bay.
Here, the server accidentally smashed our first bottle of rosé Champagne and as an apology we enjoyed two more and a decadent plate of fresh local fruits and cheeses. Totally worth it.

A hidden gem in Paros that offers ultimate luxury and a pool area you’ll never want to leave.
Stay at Parilio
Paros
Romantic luxury
Paros isn’t as built up as Mykonos and there are fewer hotel choices. Thankfully, Parilio is maybe one of the best hotels in Greece.
It opened in 2021 so everything still feels brand new, and in addition to the beautiful asymmetrical pool, there’s a decadent Asian-inspired spa and beautiful suites. It’s also one of the most romantic Paros honeymoon spots to retreat to.

Mykonos Town’s chilled-out cousin with pretty harbourside restaurants and delicious local food.
Explore beautiful Naoussa
Paros
Beautiful Naoussa
On the northern coast is Paros’ prettiest town, Naoussa.
This picturesque fishing village is all tiny whitewashed lanes and colourful shops. The harbour was once a port for Venetian ships and is now a tranquil spot where boats drift in and out, and restaurants serve up fresh fish and Greek wines. For panoramic views of the surrounding hills, head to the rooftop bar of Mediterraneo.

The family-run taverna that’s been an icon since the 60s.
Eat at Il Palia Agora
Paros
Romantic dining
For a traditional, romantic meal in Naoussa, this tavern is perfect. Every night, a queue forms in front of the distinctive green door, and you get one of the tables spilling out on the alley next to the tavern, you have one of the best seats in Naoussa.
There’s mezze like fried calamari and picarel (its famous Greek-style meatballs) but don’t leave without trying the Octopus and fava bean.

Hacking through the wilds of Paros is one of the most unforgettable experiences.
Go horseriding in the sea
Paros
Honeymoon adventure
For real honeymoon adventure, book a morning trail ride at Thanasis Farm. The family-owned riding school offers 2-hour hacks from their location in the countryside all the way to the beach.
I’ll never forget when our guide ushered the horses into the sea and we slowly ventured in – water up to our thighs – riding happily amidst the waves.
