Amilla Maldives has welcomed holistic wellness practitioner Nongluck Chuaychuang, known as Nikki, to Javvu Spa for a visiting residency running until 30 August 2026.
Set within the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, the private-island resort is offering nine treatments shaped around Chuaychuang’s experience in Reiki, sound healing, intuitive bodywork and Thai massage. Sessions start at USD 230++per person, approximately GBP 175++.
Chuaychuang is a Reiki Master and sound healer with more than a decade of experience, according to a previous visiting-practitioner programme at Anantara. Her August residency gives guests several ways to approach the programme, from targeted muscular work to slower sound and energy sessions.

The Nikki Essence combines bodywork, Reiki and sound
The signature treatment of the residency is The Nikki Essence, a personalised ritual combining intuitive bodywork with Reiki energy healing and therapeutic sound. Amilla describes the experience as intended to ease physical tension, rebalance energy and encourage deep relaxation.
Available from 60 minutes, The Nikki Essence costs USD 310++per person, approximately GBP 235++. It brings Chuaychuang’s principal techniques together in one session, offering a broad introduction to her practice.
The Bodywork Holistic Massage provides a more touch-focused alternative. Chuaychuang adapts the treatment to the individual guest, using intuitive touch and therapeutic massage techniques intended to release muscular tension and support circulation. Sessions start at 60 minutes and cost USD 230++per person, approximately GBP 175++.
For guests seeking abdominal and lymphatic work, the 90-minute Body Reset combines specialised lymphatic drainage with abdominal therapy. The treatment is designed to encourage natural circulation and support digestive comfort, and costs USD 310++per person, approximately GBP 235++.
Thai therapies focus on tension and mobility
Three Thai massage options appear within the residency, each taking a different approach to flexibility or persistent tension.
Thai Fusion Therapy blends restorative massage with Tok Sen, a Northern Thai practice built around rhythmic tapping. Traditional accounts say wooden implements are used to send vibrations through the body’s energy lines, although Amilla has not specified which tools will be used in its treatment. The 90-minute session is designed to ease tightness and support mobility, with a price of USD 310++ per person.
Deep Thai Release, also lasting 90 minutes, instead uses targeted pressure-point work to address deep muscular tension. It carries the same USD 310++price. Traditional Thai Massage uses a dry massage format intended to improve flexibility and support general wellbeing. It starts at 60 minutes and USD 230++ per person.
These treatments are wellness experiences, and their stated effects reflect the aims of the therapies rather than established medical outcomes.
Sound and energy sessions offer a gentler pace
Guests who prefer a treatment with less emphasis on massage can book Energy Alignment, a Sound Healing Journey or Chakra Balance. Each 60-minute experience costs USD 310++per person, approximately GBP 235++.
The sessions use Reiki principles or therapeutic sound to encourage relaxation and mental clarity. Sound healing commonly draws on the vibrations of instruments such as Tibetan singing bowls, while Reiki is a Japanese practice in which the practitioner works with the hands above or lightly on the body.
Javvu Spa incorporates Maldivian herbal traditions
Located among Amilla’s tropical vegetation, Javvu Spa pairs visiting-practitioner residencies with an established menu of Eastern and Western therapies. Its treatments also incorporate Dhivehi Beys, the traditional herbal medicine of the Maldives.
Visit Maldives describes Dhivehi Beys as a body of knowledge using local roots, vines, flowers and other plants. At Amilla, ingredients are sourced from the resort’s organic Mystique Garden and surrounding jungle, connecting parts of the spa menu directly to the island.
Javvu Spa received a Four-Star distinction in the Forbes Travel Guide 2025 Star Awards. Beyond the spa, Amilla has 67 Pool Villas and Residences, all with private pools and indoor-outdoor living space. The island also has white-sand beaches, a house reef and access to diving and snorkelling around Baa Atoll.
Accommodation at Amilla Maldives starts from USD 1,501++per night, approximately GBP 1,125++, based on two guests sharing a Water Pool Villa. Chuaychuang’s treatments are available at Javvu Spa until 30 August 2026 and should be reserved directly with the resort.
