Live jazz, caviar blinis and a champagne reception will bring a 1960s European high-society theme to Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village this New Year’s Eve. The hotel has announced a programme for Thursday, 31 December 2026, spanning a ballroom gala, restaurant dinners, an early family countdown and an in-room celebration for two.

The hotel sits in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, approximately 20 minutes from Malibu and the Pacific Ocean, with gardens, waterfalls and walking paths around the property. Its Alpine-inspired festive season will still be underway, including scheduled evening snowfall at the front drive.

The evening’s choices come with different timings and prices. Families staying at the hotel can celebrate at a complimentary party ending at 9pm, while the Midnight Royale Gala continues until 1am. Restaurant reservations and the champagne-and-caviar room package offer other ways to spend the night.

Midnight Royale: jazz, champagne and caviar

The Midnight Royale Gala will take place in The Hamptons Ballroom from 9pm to 1am, beginning with a red-carpet arrival and champagne reception. The hotel is encouraging guests to dress for the evening’s European soirée theme, with live jazz and DJ entertainment accompanying the celebrations.

Food will be served through a series of culinary stations: caviar blinis, a raw bar, lobster rolls, a chef’s carving presentation, and pastries and confectionery. Tray-passed bites are also included.

Tickets cost US$495 per person, plus tax and gratuity. That includes the culinary offerings and a beverage selection covering cocktails, selected spirits, wine, beer and zero-proof drinks. Premium and ultra-premium spirits carry an additional charge.

A champagne toast and midnight ball drop will mark the arrival of 2027, with the event continuing for another hour. The four-hour programme brings the food, drinks and entertainment together in one setting, making this the hotel’s most extensive late-night celebration.

Two dinner options at Coin & Candor

Coin & Candor, the hotel’s California brasserie, combines locally sourced ingredients with wood-fired cooking. Its ground-floor dining room is just off the main lobby, while the outdoor patio overlooks the gardens, subject to weather and availability.

Chef Hugo Bolaños’s à la carte offerings will be available during the first New Year’s Eve seating, from 5pm to 7.30pm. For families attending the hotel party, a reservation towards the start of that window would allow time to dine before festivities begin at 7pm.

The second seating runs from 8pm to 10pm and features a four-course prix fixe menu at US$395 per person, plus tax. Guests booking this dinner can add Midnight Royale Gala after-party tickets for US$200 per person, with access beginning at approximately 10.30pm.

That timing gives diners an evening at the restaurant followed by the final part of the ballroom celebration, including midnight. The later-entry ticket is offered as an add-on to the prix fixe dinner; the full gala ticket covers the programme from its 9pm start.

Soba and Wagyu at Onyx

Onyx, the hotel’s Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, will serve an à la carte New Year’s Eve dinner from 5.30pm to 10pm. Its usual setting includes a sit-down sushi bar, with nigiri, sashimi and traditional hot dishes among its offerings.

The evening’s specials will include house-made toshikoshi soba noodles, caviar rolls and A5 Wagyu katsu sandwiches, alongside champagne pairings.

Both Onyx and Coin & Candor welcome hotel guests and outside visitors, and both publish a smart-casual dress code. Holiday dinner reservations are worth arranging ahead; Onyx recommends booking at least 24 hours in advance.

An early countdown for families

The complimentary Family New Year’s Eve Party runs from 7pm to 9pm and is exclusively for registered hotel guests. Festive music, arts and crafts, and cookie decorating will lead up to a countdown timed to the East Coast ball drop at 9pm Pacific Standard Time.

Children aged 14 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The two-hour schedule gives families a shared celebration that finishes earlier in the evening, with activities designed for younger guests.

The hotel also has a heated indoor pool, dedicated children’s and teenagers’ activity rooms, and an outdoor activity lawn among its family facilities. These add useful options for families extending their visit beyond the party itself, particularly when planning daytime activities around dinner and the countdown.

Champagne and caviar in your room

The Midnight Celebration package brings a celebration for two directly to the guest room. Priced at US$295, plus applicable taxes and fees, it includes a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Champagne, caviar service, chocolate-covered strawberries and festive 2027 party accessories.

The package is available through the hotel’s online shopping cart. For couples who want to spend midnight privately, its contents and price are clearly defined, with champagne, savoury food and something sweet included together.

Guests could pair it with an earlier restaurant dinner, or make the in-room service their midnight occasion. The package is separate from the ballroom gala and the restaurant dining experiences.

A winter stay in the Santa Monica foothills

The hotel’s wider Alpine-inspired festive programme begins on 1 December and overlaps with New Year stays. Scheduled snowfall at the front drive takes place every half-hour between 5pm and 8pm, daily through 1 January 2027. Suite guests can also reserve a decorated in-suite Christmas tree as part of their festive-season booking.

Seasonal spa treatments give couples another reason to allow time around the celebrations. The 90-minute Mountain Aroma Massage pairs a full-body massage and warm stones with an essential-oil blend of sweet marjoram, peppermint, eucalyptus and rosemary. Its announced price is US$425 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

The Herbal Spa Apothecary for Two is a private, in-suite experience comprising an herbal foot soak, side-by-side massages and herbal tea service. The 60-minute treatment costs US$1,750 per couple, plus tax and gratuity.

The hotel’s spa occupies 40,000 square feet, with 28 treatment rooms featuring private terraces. Gardens with walking paths and an orchid house provide places to spend time outdoors during a longer stay, while the Center for Health & Wellbeing offers individual consultations, workshops and classes incorporating nutrition, mindfulness and fitness.

Planning and reservations

Room reservations and further celebration information are available through the hotel’s website or by calling (818) 575-3000. Coin & Candor and Onyx also provide reservation options on their restaurant pages.

Guests with allergies or particular dietary requirements should contact the restaurant team in advance. When booking, select the relevant dinner seating, full gala ticket, later-entry dinner add-on or in-room package; each has its own schedule and price, and the complimentary family party requires a registered hotel stay.
