Town Hall Hotel occupies a restored Grade II-listed Edwardian town hall on Patriot Square in Bethnal Green. In its Signature Junior Suites, original plasterwork and fireplaces sit alongside bespoke furniture, while glass partitions preserve views of the full ceiling height. The historic detail gives these rooms a distinctive setting for a London weekend, with kitchens that make a longer stay practical.

The hotel has announced autumn and winter offers covering Sunday stays, family breaks and trips with friends, followed by a Black Friday booking window opening on 19 November. Bethnal Green’s pubs, cocktail bars and Young V&A provide plenty to build a weekend around locally; two major exhibitions opening elsewhere in London this month give art-loving travellers another reason to stay.

Period rooms with space to settle in

Town Hall’s accommodation ranges from bedrooms to serviced apartments and two-bedroom suites. Junior Suites are open-plan, with high ceilings, large period sash windows and kitchenettes, while the Deluxe One Bedroom Suites have a kitchen and dining area across approximately 51–60 square metres. An oven, hob, microwave and fridge-freezer allow for meals at home between restaurant reservations.

Two-bedroom suites sleep up to five guests, with the Signature category offering two bedrooms and two bathrooms across 82–94.3 square metres. For families or friends sharing, that extra space can make a city stay considerably more comfortable.

The 14-metre heated pool sits beneath skylights, with loungers alongside it. Guests also have access to a gym with Peloton Bikes, while reception can arrange in-room massages, facials, hair and nail services through Ruuby. A swim or treatment offers a gentler interval between neighbourhood walks and gallery visits.

Sunday roasts and Bethnal Green cocktails

The Marksman serves classic Sunday roasts throughout the year, while The Nelson’s, close to Columbia Road Flower Market, makes a useful stop after browsing the flowers. Time Out recommends The Nelson’s for Sunday lunch, with a menu spanning beef rump, pork belly, lamb shoulder and a soy-marinated chicken thigh, fried, alongside vegetarian and vegan options.

Satan’s Whiskers is just across the road from the hotel, making an evening cocktail easy to fit into the stay. Ranked No. 29 in The World’s 50 Best Bars 2026, it serves a daily-changing menu of classic cocktails with a hip-hop soundtrack. It opens from 5pm and accepts walk-ins; reservations are taken only by telephone, on 020 7739 8362.

East London Liquor Company offers a more hands-on outing at its Lab, with Negroni Builder tastings and East End Blender whisky-blending sessions. These are opportunities to explore cocktail-making or whisky blending rather than an on-site distillery visit.

Town Hall’s Extend Your Sunday Stay package is a two-night Sunday-and-Monday stay. It includes breakfast, check-in from 2pm, checkout at noon and a room upgrade subject to availability. That gives guests an earlier arrival and a little more time on departure than the hotel’s standard 3pm check-in and 11am checkout. The package requires full payment at booking, is non-refundable and allows no changes or cancellations.

A family break near Young V&A

Young V&A’s Imagine, Play and Design galleries are free to enter, with no booking required, and the museum opens seven days a week.

Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends runs until 15 November 2026, but is currently sold out. The show celebrates 50 years of the animation studio through models, sets, storyboards and interactive activities; anyone planning a visit specifically for Wallace & Gromit should take that availability into account.

Town Hall’s Space to Stay Together offer includes a complimentary extra bed for a third guest in a Junior or One-Bedroom Suite, or a fifth guest in a Family Suite. The hotel puts the saving at £75 per night. It applies to new reservations, cannot be combined with another promotion and may have blackout dates. A suite with a kitchen also gives families more flexibility around breakfast and meals between outings.

Two November exhibitions to plan around

Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury opens at Tate Britain on 12 November 2026 and runs until 11 April 2027. Tate says more than 300 works will explore the artists’ five-decade creative partnership, bringing together paintings, furniture, ceramics and textiles. Their shared studio will be relocated from Charleston in East Sussex for the exhibition while the house undergoes conservation, giving the show a particularly direct connection to their working lives.

Van Eyck: The Portraits opens at the National Gallery on 21 November 2026, with its run ending on 11 April 2027. Nine painted portraits and the artist’s only surviving drawing, Portrait of an Elderly Man, are included in the exhibition. A number of works will be displayed in the round, allowing visitors to see the painted marbling on their reverses. The Arnolfini Portrait will appear alongside another portrait thought to depict the same man.

Both exhibitions mean travelling beyond East London. Town Hall’s connections to Liverpool Street make it a useful base for friends arriving from elsewhere in the country, while Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Victoria Park provide closer options between museum visits.

Dinner at Elis and a stay with friends

Restaurant Elis draws on chef Rafael Cagali’s Brazilian-Italian heritage, serving rustic dishes, snacks and wines. Dinner runs Monday to Saturday, with lunch from Thursday to Saturday. For a midweek stay, the hotel’s announced Wednesday Steak Night pairs picanha with cassava chips and salad for £20 per person.

The Group Getaway offer gives 50% off a second room when booking two, with the discount applying to the second room, whether its category is lower-priced or identical to the first room’s. Guests must stay for at least two nights, and one person must book and pay for both rooms. The offer is subject to availability, and blackout dates may apply.

Black Friday dates and booking details

Town Hall Hotel’s Black Friday offer gives 30% off the best available rate for bookings made between 19 November and 2 December 2026. Eligible stays run from 19 November 2026 to 31 December 2027, so the booking window covers both an imminent winter break and plans further ahead. The hotel quotes starting rates of £220 per night for a double room and £499 for Signature suites.

Small dogs stay free under the family and group offers. Outside those promotions, the general policy lists a £25 daily charge and £60 deposit. Dogs must be leashed in public areas and cannot enter the pool, gym or food-and-drink spaces.

Family and group packages are booked through the hotel’s reservations team on 020 7871 0460 or reservations@townhallhotel.com. The address is Patriot Square, Bethnal Green, London E2 9NF.
