Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel opened in July 2026 in central Lecce, marking Tivoli Hotels & Resorts’ arrival in Puglia and its fourth property in Italy.
The five-star hotel occupies a restored palazzo on Via Imperatore Augusto, surrounded by the warm golden limestone and ornate façades that define Lecce’s Baroque centre. Its position combines the convenience of a city break with access to beach clubs on the Adriatic and Ionian coasts.
A historic stay in central Lecce
Set between Piazza Sant’Oronzo and Piazzetta Santa Chiara, Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel places much of the historic centre within walking distance. The Roman Amphitheatre, Basilica di Santa Croce, Lecce Cathedral and Castle of Charles V are all nearby.
Lecce is often called the Florence of the South, a reference to the elaborate churches and palazzi carved from local Pietra Leccese. From the hotel, guests can explore these streets on foot before returning for dinner or an evening drink above the old town.

The building has a 19th-century hotel history and was formerly associated with the Risorgimento Hotel. Its latest restoration retains the character of the palazzo while introducing contemporary interiors and the facilities expected of a modern luxury property.
Rooms and suites shaped by the palazzo
The hotel has 48 rooms and suites, including 13 suites. Interiors combine warm stone shades, Italian character and details informed by local materials and craftsmanship.
Accommodation ranges from Superior and Deluxe Rooms to Premium Rooms with balconies or enhanced views. Larger options include Junior Suites, Jacuzzi Suites, Family Room Suites and suites with private spa features.

The Presidential Suite is the most distinctive category, with a private outdoor terrace overlooking Lecce’s Roman Amphitheatre. It offers a rare perspective on the ancient landmark while remaining in the heart of the city’s restaurants and evening life.
Southern Italian dining and rooftop drinks
Godot Restaurant is the hotel’s signature dining room, serving a menu built around southern Italian traditions. Artisan pasta, fresh seafood, seasonal local produce and Italian wines shape the offer, with dinner served daily from 19:00 to 22:00.
The restaurant’s name refers to Samuel Beckett’s work and its themes of anticipation and desire. The cooking is rooted in Puglia, using Mediterranean ingredients and regional culinary techniques.
Above the palazzo, the Rooftop Terrace & Lounge Bar looks towards the bell tower of Lecce Cathedral. Open from 17:00 to 23:00, it is designed for sunset aperitivo and evening drinks, with capacity for intimate seated gatherings or larger standing receptions.
A Lobby Bar provides a quieter option at ground level, while 24-hour in-room dining is also available.
Wellness after exploring Lecce
After a day spent walking through Lecce, the wellness area offers a calm contrast. Inside are two treatment rooms, an indoor heated salt-water pool, a steam room, a sauna and a relaxation lounge with a tisaneria, or herbal-tea corner.

A fully equipped rooftop gym is open around the clock and has direct access to the outdoor area. Guests can also request sessions with a personal trainer.
Beach clubs on two Salento coasts
Access to selected beach clubs extends the hotel beyond its city-centre setting. Guests can arrange days on both sides of the Salento peninsula, moving between the Adriatic coast and the Ionian shore while retaining Lecce as their base.
Named options include San Cataldo, Torre dell’Orso, Porto Cesareo and Gallipoli. San Cataldo and other nearby Salento beaches can be reached in around 20 minutes by car, while journeys to Porto Cesareo or Gallipoli generally take 30 to 40 minutes. Travel times will vary with traffic and the chosen beach club.
Guests can also use a swimming pool about four kilometres from the property, where reserved areas and dedicated service are available. The arrangement gives summer guests access to both Lecce and organised coastal leisure.
Tivoli expands its Italian portfolio
The Lecce opening joins Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi Firenze, Tivoli President Milano Hotel and Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Wellness Resort & Spa in the brand’s Italian portfolio.
“We are pleased with the opening of Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel, representing Minor Hotels’ first property in Puglia,” Gonzalo Aguilar, CEO of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, said in the opening announcement.

The year-round property also has two event spaces for small meetings and private celebrations. Depending on the configuration, they can accommodate up to about 40 guests, while the rooftop can host cocktail receptions.
Travel and booking information
Lecce railway station is approximately one kilometre from the hotel. Brindisi Airport is around 30 to 35 minutes away by car, while the journey from Bari Airport takes roughly one hour 40 minutes to two hours. Transfers can be arranged for an additional fee, and off-site valet parking costs €30 per day.
At the time of writing the hotel is promoting opening, summer, Beach Club, Wellness Retreat and advance-purchase packages. Its current offers advertise savings of up to 20% on selected summer bookings and up to 15% for qualifying advance purchases, subject to availability and booking conditions.
Tivoli Palazzo 1880 Lecce Hotel is best suited to couples, honeymooners, culture-focused visitors and food-led travellers seeking a polished base for Lecce and the wider Salento peninsula.
