Red Sea Global has launched a yachting network connecting AMAALA and Shura Island, creating a 278-berth route along Saudi Arabia’s north-west Red Sea coast.
From winter 2026, private yachts and charter vessels will be able to use AMAALA Marina and Shura Island Marina through one shared berthing agreement. Marine services at both destinations will also be coordinated by one operator, although pricing and the services included have not yet been detailed.
The network combines 119 berths at AMAALA Marina with 159 at Shura Island Marina. Red Sea Global says both facilities can accommodate yachts up to 120 metres, allowing large private and charter vessels to call at both destinations.
Additional marinas and anchorages are due to join the network in 2027, expanding the possible cruising routes beyond the initial AMAALA-Shura corridor. The company has not named those locations.
One contract across two Red Sea marinas
The newly created Yachting Network brings Red Sea Global’s marina operations and marine services together under one management company. It is intended to simplify journeys between AMAALA, the developer’s wellness-focused destination, and Shura Island, the main hub within The Red Sea destination.
For yacht owners and guests booking charters, the central feature is access to both marinas through one contract. Berthing arrangements and associated marine services for captains and crew will be coordinated across the network.
“The aim is to make cruising between destinations as seamless as possible, while delivering the level of service expected,” John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said in the launch announcement.
The two marinas are located within destinations that are already welcoming visitors. The Red Sea began receiving guests in 2023, while AMAALA welcomed its first guests in 2026. Shura Island’s first resorts opened in 2025, followed by Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea on 20 May 2026.
Both marinas sit within established resort destinations. Shura Island provides access to The Red Sea’s hotels, while AMAALA Marina sits within the protected Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve.
AMAALA Yacht Club becomes the northern gateway
Located at Triple Bay, AMAALA Yacht Club is a new international yachting hub within Red Sea Global’s wellness destination, an ultra-luxury development. Its 119-berth marina began welcoming its first members and yacht visitors shortly before the wider network was announced.
The marina has a full international port of entry and is positioned around 200 nautical miles south of the Suez Canal. That location gives vessels travelling beyond the Mediterranean a possible winter base on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, with direct access to AMAALA’s resorts and wellness experiences.
Red Sea Global’s latest announcement places the yacht club 1,300 nautical miles from Monaco via the Suez Canal. Earlier company information supplied for our report on the opening of AMAALA Yacht Club gave a distance of 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco.
Designed by HKS, the yacht club’s 7,900-square-metre clubhouse includes dining venues, private lounges and a pool deck. A year-round programme of sailing and social events is intended to support its role as a base for Mediterranean and Red Sea cruising.
The club is also home to the AYC Academy, which offers Royal Yachting Association-certified sailing programmes for different ages and abilities. In 2027, AMAALA Yacht Club is scheduled to host The Ocean Race, bringing an international sailing event to the marina during the network’s first planned year of expansion.
Shura Island adds the network’s largest marina
Shura Island Marina is a 159-berth facility offering direct access to Shura Island, which Red Sea Global describes as the main hub of The Red Sea destination. The company also identifies it as Saudi Arabia’s largest island marina.
The island setting gives the new network a contrasting second base. AMAALA is centred on wellness and yachting in Triple Bay, while Shura connects arriving guests with a broader resort destination that began opening in 2025.
The marina can receive vessels up to 120 metres, matching the maximum length stated for AMAALA Marina. Together, the facilities provide 278 berths across a corridor for yachts moving between two developed destinations.
Shura’s place in the network also gives charter itineraries a second embarkation or stopping point. Red Sea Global has not yet published sample routes, transfer arrangements or guidance on how long visiting yachts can remain at each marina.
Operating standards and environmental rules
Red Sea Global says the network’s operating standards will incorporate the Saudi Red Sea Authority Code. Saudi Arabia introduced its first yacht-specific regulations in 2024, covering areas including yacht operations, licences, permits, safety requirements and environmental protection.
Those regulations provide a national framework for recreational and commercial yachts entering Saudi waters. The network announcement does not set out its own procedures for clearances, waste management or other environmental controls, so captains will need further operational guidance before planning a visit.
Environmental stewardship across the network will also draw on work led by Corallium, AMAALA’s marine life institute. Red Sea Global has not specified which Corallium standards will apply to visiting vessels or how compliance will be monitored at either marina.
The company is a member of international marine industry and harbour associations, including the International Council of Marine Industry Associations and The Yacht Harbour Association. It says those memberships will help shape the way services are delivered and facilities are operated.
Expansion is planned for 2027
The winter 2026 launch is limited to AMAALA Marina and Shura Island Marina. More marinas and anchorages are expected to be incorporated during 2027, but Red Sea Global has not confirmed their locations, capacity or opening dates.
Adding anchorages as well as marinas could allow future itineraries to reach quieter stretches of the coastline between developed hubs. The practical scope will depend on which sites join, the facilities available and the rules applied to visiting vessels.
