O2 Beach Club & Spa, a luxury all-inclusive resort in Saint Lawrence Gap, has launched a celestial programme combining guided star bathing, astronomy and beachfront wellness on Barbados’ south coast.
Introduced ahead of the summer solstice on 21 June 2026, the programme centres on the island’s night sky with a Bajan perspective. Guests can join meditation and stargazing sessions, practise yoga beside the Caribbean Sea, then order a new cocktail inspired by the sun.
Star bathing beside the Caribbean Sea
O2 Beach Club & Spa’s new star-bathing experience invites guests to settle onto a beach or pool lounger after dark. A signature guided meditation moves through the constellations and Milky Way, accompanied by breaking waves or the warm evening breeze.
Designed for couples and solo travellers, the session offers a quiet alternative to the resort’s bars and evening entertainment. Guests can also access the meditation after travelling home, allowing them to recreate the experience away from Barbados.
The activity requires little beyond a comfortable lounger and a clear sky, making the beachfront location central to its appeal. O2 occupies approximately 1,000 feet of coastline, with the western end used for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking during the day.
Leo Branch leads astronomy sessions in Barbados
Resident astronomer Leo Branch, known locally as the Bajan Starman, leads the resort’s guided astronomy sessions. Branch ties sightings of planets, galaxies and other celestial bodies to questions about time and where humanity fits in the universe.
A self-taught Barbadian astronomer, Branch has spent more than five decades studying the sky. His interest began during the 1960s, inspired by clear island nights and the limited artificial light visible in parts of Barbados.
Branch later acquired a portable electronic 10-inch telescope and became a pioneer of beach-based stargazing on the island. His sessions combine close views of the night sky with stories rooted in Barbadian identity and heritage.

Beach yoga follows the movement of the sun
The celestial schedule extends into daylight with sunrise and sunset yoga on the beach. Morning classes pair gentle movement with the first light over the horizon, while restorative evening sessions unfold as the temperature falls beside the sea.
A dedicated sunset class marked the summer solstice, taking guests from daylight into dusk before turning to the stars. The regular sunrise and sunset sessions continue as part of the resort’s wellness offering.
At Oasis Lounge, the theme also appears on the cocktail menu. Sun Potion blends Scotch Bonnet Rum with lime juice and mango purée for evening service.
An all-inclusive base in Saint Lawrence Gap
Opened in October 2021, O2 Beach Club & Spa is a contemporary all-suite resort with three swimming pools, including a rooftop pool overlooking the coast. Guests can choose between six dining experiences and seven bars, ranging from beachside grills to modern European-Caribbean cooking.
The 5,600-square-foot Acqua spa occupies the eighth floor and has panoramic ocean views. It also contains what the resort describes as the only Hammam treatment room in Barbados.
