Equinox Resort AMAALA has opened at Triple Bay on Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast, becoming Equinox Hotels’ second property worldwide and its first outside the United States.
Located in Marina Village between the Red Sea and the Hijaz Mountains, the adults-only resort combines Equinox’s performance-focused lifestyle with AMAALA’s wider emphasis on wellness. Its facilities include 128 rooms and suites, 21 branded residences, four outdoor pools and the largest fitness centre at the destination.
Red Sea Global announced the opening on 3 September 2026, as AMAALA’s first collection of luxury resorts continues to welcome guests around Triple Bay.
“The opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA introduces a distinctive new dimension to the destination’s wellness offering,” John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said.
Equinox describes its approach as “performance luxury”, with movement and recovery integrated throughout the accommodation, spa, fitness spaces and food programme. Wellness is integrated into the property through training, sleep and regeneration.
Foster + Partners design overlooking Triple Bay
Drawing on the coast, surrounding mountains and marine setting for its architectural palette, Equinox Resort AMAALA was designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group.
The resort occupies a prominent position in Marina Village, close to AMAALA Yacht Club and Hijaz Cove. Its fitness areas and pool decks are reserved for guests, while the wider promenade, Marina Village and signature restaurants are accessible to visitors.
The coastal setting is reflected most clearly across the outdoor spaces. Outdoor facilities include a lap pool, leisure pools and a rooftop pool containing magnesium salt, with views over Triple Bay, AMAALA Marina and the Yacht Club.
The rooftop pool gives the resort a more leisurely counterpoint to its training programme, allowing guests to move from structured fitness and recovery sessions into an open-air setting above the marina.
Alongside 21 branded residences, the accommodation offering covers six categories, including two penthouse suites. The residences extend the same design and wellness concept into private homes within the development.
Rooms designed around deeper sleep
Guest rooms at Equinox Resort AMAALA have been created as controlled recovery environments, with design focused on rest between activities.
Circadian lighting is set to help regulate the body’s internal clock, while advanced acoustic isolation is intended to reduce disturbances during the night. Precision climate controls allow the room temperature to be adjusted around individual preferences and sleep patterns.
These details build on the sleep-science platform used by Equinox Hotels, connecting the bedroom directly with the resort’s wider approach to physical performance. The concept is aimed at guests who want rest to receive the same attention as exercise and nutrition during their stay.
The design also responds to the landscape beyond the room. The official Equinox Resort AMAALA website positions the property between the Red Sea and the ancient Hijaz Mountains, giving its recovery-focused interiors a distinctly coastal setting.
AMAALA’s largest fitness facility
Equinox Resort AMAALA provides 704 square metres of training space spanning indoor and outdoor areas, which Red Sea Global describes as AMAALA’s largest fitness facility.
The training programme is part of a broader integrated offering that links community with regeneration, nutrition and movement. Indoor facilities sit alongside outdoor areas that make use of Triple Bay’s climate and waterfront position.
The resort supports a stay built around training and recovery, with the gym integrated into the main resort.
The property’s adults-only policy supports that focused atmosphere. Equinox presents the resort as suitable for travellers seeking measurable fitness and recovery experiences, as well as those drawn to its pools, marina views and restaurants.
Equinox X Circuit anchors the spa
The 1,602-square-metre spa is built around Equinox X Circuit, a proprietary seven-stage experience that guides guests through a progressive sequence of treatments and recovery technologies.
Its facilities include:

- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
- Hydrotherapy
- Hot-and-cold contrast treatments
The combination allows programmes to be tailored around recovery goals, with technology-led treatments alongside tactile therapies. Together, they create a more structured experience than a traditional massage-and-sauna visit.
Equinox describes the circuit as both high-tech and high-touch. It reflects the company’s broader emphasis on regeneration after exercise, while also serving guests who arrive primarily for rest or a dedicated wellness break.
The scale of the spa makes it one of the resort’s defining spaces. At more than twice the size of the indoor and outdoor training area, it gives recovery a substantial physical presence within the property.
Four restaurants built around healthy indulgence
Dining at Equinox Resort AMAALA follows what the company calls “indulgently healthy nutrition”, pairing health-conscious menus with the atmosphere expected from a luxury coastal resort.

Each venue has been developed as a distinct experience while remaining connected to the resort’s performance-living philosophy. Full menu details have not been included in the opening announcement, but the overall programme is intended to balance nutrition with a sense of occasion.
The restaurants also connect Equinox Resort AMAALA with the wider Marina Village. Visitors can access its signature dining venues and the promenade, even though the private pool and fitness decks remain reserved for resort guests.
Equinox joins AMAALA’s first resort collection
Equinox Resort AMAALA is part of the first major opening phase at Triple Bay, where several internationally recognised hospitality brands began welcoming guests during summer 2026.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA opened in June and offers 202 accommodations that range across guest rooms, suites and garden villas. Its facilities include the 2,095-square-metre HYLIAA Wellness & Spa, alongside 26 branded residential villas.
Next came Six Senses AMAALA, with 100 accommodations across suites and villas, 25 branded residences and a programme centred on longevity, movement and recovery.
Rosewood AMAALA opened in August with 110 pavilions, suites and villas, each featuring a private pool. Its Asaya wellness concept provides a further interpretation of personalised wellbeing at Triple Bay.
Equinox distinguishes itself within this collection through its roots in high-performance fitness. Its extensive training floor, sleep-focused rooms and technology-led recovery circuit give the property a clear identity among AMAALA’s broader selection of wellness resorts.
AMAALA’s plans extend beyond Triple Bay
AMAALA, developed by Red Sea Global, brings together wellness, sport, culture and lifestyle experiences. The current programme is expected to deliver more than 1,600 rooms across nine resorts, with branded residences, a marina, shops and restaurants also planned.
Longer-term plans under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 programme describe a destination covering 4,200 square kilometres within the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve. By 2030, AMAALA is planned to include more than 4,000 hotel rooms distributed among 30 hotels and over 1,200 luxury residences.
The development says only 5 per cent of the overall area will be built on, with the remainder preserved to protect local ecosystems and cultural assets. Wider environmental goals previously set for AMAALA include operating with renewable energy and achieving a 30 per cent net conservation benefit across local ecosystems by 2040.
Future attractions include the Corallium Marine Life Institute, planned as an educational, research and conservation centre focused on marine environments. AMAALA Yacht Club is intended to serve as an international base for luxury yachting alongside the destination’s marina.
Equinox Resort AMAALA is now open in Marina Village, offering an adults-only base for travellers who want structured fitness and advanced recovery within Triple Bay’s emerging coastal community.
